Energy Skills Transition Hub

Fixed Term Contract to 30/09/2026 - 35 hours per week (up to 12 hours teaching).

We have an exciting opportunity for an Academic and Quality Manager to be part of the team that launches Fife College’s new Energy Transition Skills Hub. Supported by Shell, the Hub will deliver an innovative experiential learning environment and a range of education and upskilling pathways.

The Academic & Quality Manager will lead on the development of a Renewable Energy & Energy Transition Curriculum. You will work in partnership with the Academic Head and Director of Faculty to contribute to strategic planning and lead on operational management for renewable energy and energy transition courses. This is a cross faculty role that will involve working across the engineering team in collaboration with other Academic Quality Managers.

This role will have particular focus on launching the recently announced Energy Transition Skills Centre which has the goal of developing education, training and routes to employment within Scotland’s Energy Transition Sector. You will have responsibility for the successful development of this curriculum area, as well as implementation of College strategic aims and objectives through leadership of operational planning, performance, monitoring and reporting and operational management of resources.

You should have a good awareness of national and regional strategies around energy transition. You should be able to build good working relationships with both internal stakeholders and relevant industry partners. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills.

You must be qualified to HND/Degree (SCQF 8/9) or SVQ Level 4/5 in the relevant vocational area, hold a teaching qualification and also have experience relating to the curriculum areas within the electrical engineering, electronics engineering and renewables.

You should also have experience of innovation and development of successful methodologies in curriculum and commercial delivery, effective application of national quality standards, budget management, curriculum design and planning, as well as quality audit and enhancement. The key focus at all times being the student journey and to support the student’s learning.

Please be aware that the successful candidate must be available for work for at least 3 weeks over the summer break July 1st to August 9th 2024.
