About the Role

In conjunction with the Lead Adviser – Attendance and Wellbeing, you will provide a professional, highly visible, accessible and responsive welfare service to all students, focused principally on student attendance and personal finance issues.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide attendance advice to student

· Monitor retention and attainment statistics for all our students

· Liaise with Student Advisers: Guidance and key Academic staff on students identified as being at particular risk of disengagement / academic failure

· Assess students for vulnerability for hardship/emergency payments.

· Assist in improving the services offered to students through ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reflection; adapting to meet the changing needs of our students.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:
  • Educated to SCQF level 7 (HNC) or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • An understanding of barriers to learning and how these maybe overcome
  • Proven record of effective equality & diversity practise
  • Desirable:
  • Safeguarding training
  • Proven record of Safeguarding
  • Experience of working and supporting looked After and Accommodated young people within education.
