Fife College is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to take forward a significant and high-profile area of work focused on climate, sustainability, and social justice.
This senior strategic role supports Fife College’s ambitions for innovation, equality, and sustainable growth, with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice and real-world impact.
With responsibility for leading a whole-college approach to embedding sustainability, inclusion, and social justice across curriculum, partnerships, and the wider student experience, this role directly supports the delivery of the College’s strategic ambitions around innovation, equality, and sustainable growth.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will help shape a model of education that responds to the needs of a changing economy and society, particularly in relation to green skills.
You will lead the strategic development of university partnerships, creating clear and innovative pathways between further and higher education. Through collaboration with universities, the role will expand progression opportunities, support joint curriculum initiatives, strengthen student transition and retention.
In this role you will position the College as a national leader in sustainable and regenerative education through innovative curriculum design, partnership working and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide strategic leadership for climate and social justice across all curriculum areas
· Lead innovation in curriculum design, embedding Education for Sustainable Development and interdisciplinary approaches
· Support a trauma-informed, inclusive approach to learning that improves engagement, wellbeing, and outcomes for all learners
· Develop and strengthen partnerships with employers, universities, public sector bodies, and community organisations
· Support the development of new provision aligned to emerging skills priorities Lead key projects and funding opportunities
· Ensure strong performance, quality, and continuous improvement Contribute to wider College priorities including equality, wellbeing, and student success
The role requires strong commercial awareness, including the ability to identify and develop opportunities for external funding, partnerships, and income generation.
About You
You will bring:
· A strong track record of leadership within education or a related sector
· Experience of delivering strategic change and innovation
· Experience of embedding inclusive or trauma-informed practice within learning or organisational settings
· A sound understanding of sustainability, inclusion, or social justice
· The ability to build effective partnerships and influence at a senior level
· Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
· You will be a collaborative and values-led leader, able to translate strategic ambition into practical delivery and measurable impact
