We are looking for a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic Technician to join our team.

Based on our Glenrothes campus (with the possibility of being based on other campuses), you will deliver the first and second line support service within your base campus and work as part of a wider team delivering a cross campus support service to all College staff, students and external partners.

You will work closely with the Lead Operations Technician on your campus and the Operations Team Leader to develop and enhance the first and second line support service so that it can continue to meet the needs of end users. You will also play a key role in shaping how the College deploys, manages and supports end user systems, services and equipment.

By fostering strong working relationships with end users on your base campus, you will develop a broad understanding of their priorities and will actively engage with the Lead Operations Technician on your base campus and colleagues from across the Digital Services directorate to ensure that these needs are met in a timely fashion that exceeds expectations.

It is essential that you are educated to HND level or equivalent (SCQF level 8), or have equivalent professional experience/qualifications in a relevant area. You should also have a passion for providing an excellent end user experience, a keen interest in technology and an attention to detail and desire to see things through to completion.

The scope of the Operations Technician role is varied; providing excellent customer service and engaging with teams across the College. Digital Services maintains a wide range of systems, services and equipment and you, as part of the Operations Team, will play a key role in supporting them. You will develop a broad understanding of all aspects of work undertaken by Digital Services and will supplement this knowledge with a high level of technical specialism around enterprise IT/end user support.

Method of applying is by completion of on-line application form. No CVs (personal or agency) will be accepted.

Please note that the college is closed from 23 December 2019 and will reopen on Monday 6 January 2020.

Interviews for this post will be arranged in the New Year.
