About the Role

As part of the School College Partnership (SCP) team you will ensure SCP participants receive a high-quality engagement and support experience whilst ensuring that individual needs and requirements are met. The SCP team work in partnership with organisations supporting school pupils and young people transiting from school to tertiary education. These organisations may include Fife Council, universities, Lift Off, private schools, third sector organisations and the College’s academic schools, with the aim of supporting the young people to gain skills and qualifications that lead on to successful pathways of learning.

Key Responsibilities

· Contribute positively towards the planning and implementation of the College’s SCP Strategy and associated operational plan.

· Assist in the development and uptake of a broad range of teaching and learning experiences for SCP activities and bespoke events, ensuring a comprehensive coverage of all activity across the broad range of subjects.

· Provide a professional, highly visible, accessible and responsive support service to all SCP learners.

· Carry out weekly monitoring of SCP groups, recording actions and liaising with college staff and high schools.

· Contact and support prospective and current SCP learners using a variety of methods including face to face, telephone, text, and emails.

· Assist in the co-ordination of the planned programme of activity and delivery, working with our partner schools and creating reports to support the SCP Co-ordinator/Manager where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential
  • Minimum SVQ / HNC or equivalent (SCQF Level 7) in a relevant field
  • Proven experience of Microsoft 365 and Teams
  • Experience within an education setting
  • Understanding and experience of working with school age learners
  • Desirable:
  • Safeguarding training
  • Facilitating project-based learning in a group setting
  • Skills in use of social media and/or Apps to positively promote and interact with groups
  • Understanding of the Developing Young Workforce (DYW) agenda
  • Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Understanding of Apprenticeships
  • Experience of transition work within Additional Support Need education setting and/or Community Learning Development
  • Proven record of Safeguarding
