About the Role

Working in conjunction with the Wellbeing & Support Manager, you will provide a professional, accessible welfare service to all Fife College students.

You will be expected to support and advise students throughout their journey, from pre-entry through to progression to positive destination, ensuring that you keep in contact using a variety of methods including face to face, calls, emails, and social media.

Key Responsibilities

· Review the effectiveness of the services offered to students through ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reflection; adapting to meet the changing needs of our students.

· Monitor retention and attainment statistics for our all our students.

· Manage a caseload. Liaise with internal and external partners to contribute to the case management of students (including students with complex needs/issues).

· Assess student vulnerability/eligibility for emergency funding and foodbank vouchers

· Deliver workshops – SAAS, UCAS, RESPECT, Budgeting. Prepare lesson plans and resources to ensure success and learner achievement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential:

o HND or equivalent qualification in a Guidance or Counselling related subject.

  • Desirable:
  • Safeguarding training

Skills and Attributes

  • Essential:

o Proven experience of guidance or counselling work preferably within education setting

o Knowledge of child protection/student issues

o An understanding of barriers to learning and how these maybe overcome

  • Desirable:

o Proven record of Safeguarding

o Experience of working and supporting Looked After and Accommodated young people within education.

o Experience of working and supporting Offenders within education.
