(Please note that the successful candidate without an assessor qualification will initially be appointed to the role of Trainee Vocational Learning & Assessment Officer with a salary range of £31,681 - £33,663 until assessor qualification is obtained. Salary placement will be depending on industry qualifications and experience of the applicant).

About the Role
Join our dynamic work based learning team in assessing candidates at SCQF Level, up to a maximum of level 9 for a set of work based/college candidates, providing crucial support and advice to candidates to help them gather and present a portfolio that meets the performance criteria and evidence requirements of their vocational qualifications. You will play a key role in the continuous development and improvement of the vocational learning programmes, ensuring they align with industry best practice and standards.

Qualifications
- Essential:
o SVQ Level 4 in the relevant vocational area (carpentry and joinery)
Or
o Appropriate qualifications as laid down by the relevant awarding bodies and requirements of the industry
o Possession of Assessor and Verifier awards (should you not hold these qualifications you should be willing to work towards).
Experience
- Essential:
Proven and up-to-date industry experience within the relevant trade or sector.
Experience supporting, training, or assessing others in the workplace, such as
apprentices, trainees, or new staff members.
Ability to develop and adapt training or assessment materials to reflect industry practices and meet the needs of learners.
Understanding of trade and qualification standards, with the ability to apply these effectively when assessing performance or skills.
Knowledge of quality and compliance processes, including maintaining accurate records and meeting external verification or audit requirements.
Desirable:
· Experience carrying out assessments or evaluations in a training, workplace, or vocational setting.
· Experience mentoring or coaching individuals, either on the job or in a learning environment.
· Proven record of supporting learners or staff through the completion of training, qualifications, or development programmes.
· Experience in quality checking or verifying assessments, ensuring that standards are met and outcomes are accurate.
