The Glasgow Academy is seeking an ambitious and highly creative Digital Content Creator to help bring the life of our school to audiences across Scotland and beyond. From capturing inspiring classroom moments and major sporting achievements to producing high-impact campaigns and engaging social content, you will play a central role in telling the story of our vibrant school community.

The Opportunity
As Digital Content Creator, you will be responsible for creating engaging multimedia content across our digital channels, helping to showcase the exceptional experiences, people, and opportunities that define The Glasgow Academy.
You will work closely with the Director of External Relations to develop compelling visual storytelling across social media, website content, campaigns, events, and wider school communications.
This is a hands-on creative role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands digital trends, and can confidently move from filming a sports fixture to editing a reel, photographing an event, or producing campaign content.
Key Responsibilities
CONTENT CREATION & SOCIAL MEDIA
• Create engaging multimedia content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and the school website.
• Capture and edit high-quality short-form video content including reels, interviews, event highlights, and day-in-the-life features.
• Produce creative photography and graphics aligned with The Glasgow Academy brand.
• Support the planning and delivery of the school’s social media and content calendar.
• Create content that reflects the breadth of school life including academics, sport, music, drama, outdoor education, STEM, and community initiatives.
• Monitor social media trends and platform developments to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and audience-focused.
VIDEO PRODUCTION & STORYTELLING
• Film and edit promotional videos, campaign content, pupil stories, and event coverage.
• Support major school campaigns including admissions, open events, results day, sporting achievements, and strategic projects.
• Produce content optimised for both organic and paid digital campaigns.
• Assist with scripting, storyboarding, and creative planning for larger projects.
SCHOOL & EVENT COVERAGE
• Attend and capture content at school events, performances, fixtures, trips, and open mornings.
• Work collaboratively with pupils, staff, parents, and alumni to identify compelling stories.
• Occasionally provide evening or weekend coverage for key events and fixtures.
BRAND COMMUNICATIONS & SUPPORT
• Ensure all content aligns with school brand guidelines and tone of voice.
• Support wider marketing and communications projects as required.
• Contribute creative ideas to enhance engagement, reach, and brand visibility.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is creative, proactive, organised, and enthusiastic about storytelling.
ESSENTIAL
• Proven experience in digital content creation, videography, photography, or social media management.
• Excellent video editing skills using platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Strong photography and visual storytelling skills.
• Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Understanding of current social media trends, algorithms, and best practice.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
DESIRABLE
• Experience working in education, sport, lifestyle, or premium brands.
• Graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Drone filming experience and relevant certification.
• Motion graphics or animation experience.
• Knowledge of paid social media campaigns and analytics tools.

The Appointment
CONTRACT - PERMANENT
£30,000 FTE (£12,000 pro rata for 2 days per week), dependent on experience and with flexibility for the right candidate.
PENSION SCHEME
The School will make a contribution equivalent to 5% salary with an employee contribution of 5%.
