The Post

We are seeking a Prep School Learning Assistant for our campus at Kelvinbridge. The ideal

candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable individual, able to work as part of

a competent, confident workforce capable of delivering services in a constantly changing

and evolving educational environment with a commitment to developing a culture of

learning at TGA Kelvinbridge.

Duties are varied but will include supporting pupils’ learning both in and out of the

classroom to complement the work set by the teachers, playground supervision, preparing

teaching materials and helping to create and maintain a stimulating and varied visual

environment within the school. An important part of the Additional Support for Learning Assistant's role will be to work closely with both the Head of ASfL and class teachers. An enthusiasm and desire to help young children who find core classroom work more challenging is essential, as is patience and understanding. Experience and knowledge of intervention strategies is desirable but flexibility and a willingness to learn is critical. Specific training in ASfL strategies will be available, both in person and online.
