Glasgow Caledonian University - the University for the Common Good - is a vibrant, values-led, multi-cultural, civic University with a global outlook and strong commitment to delivering social innovation and sustainable development in its education and research

Our organisational strategy is aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and our globally recognised researchers advise governments, industry and international bodies. We’re ranked fourth in the world and first in the UK for promoting gender equality, in the top 70 universities globally for social impact, and first in Scotland for health and wellbeing, and reduced inequalities, for which we are also ranked 21st in the world (THE Impact Rankings, 2022). In 2020-21, we contributed £1.7 billion and more than 14,000 jobs across the globe (BIGGAR Economics, 2022).

GCU is committed to widening participation, and delivering positive outcomes for our students. We are Scotland’s leading provider of Graduate Apprenticeships. With campuses in Glasgow, London and New York, we have transnational partnerships around the world, supporting more than 22,000 students from 130 countries. Guided by our values – integrity, responsibility, creativity and confidence - we transform the lives of the people and communities we serve.

GCU’s Admissions and Enquiry Service is currently seeking to appoint an Admissions Team Lead (Undergraduate) on a full time basis.

The role oversees the Undergraduate Admissions Team, helping to match applicants to GCU with the programme that will kick off their future career.  Working closely with colleagues in the Admissions and Enquiry Service, other teams within the Directorate of Recruitment and Admissions, and wider University you will support the achievement of recruitment targets by providing an effective and efficient, customer centred applicant experience.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience from the public or private sectors and ideally be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the HE admissions cycle.  They should also have an understanding of the statutory and compliance factors that govern HE Admissions and a good working knowledge of UCAS and Student Information Management Systems.

Candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and will have a proven track record in service delivery at a supervisory level with a highly motivated and focussed team. With the ability to work methodically and analytically, but also to think creatively to solve problems, individuals will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as strong IT skills using Microsoft Packages.

If you wish to ask any specific questions on the post, you can contact Catriona Robinson, Admissions Manager (Undergraduate, Enquiries & Admissions Administration) at Catriona.Robinson@gcu.ac.uk

Please note, a flexible approach to work is required with some evening and weekend work required on occasion.  Annual leave may be restricted at certain times of the year to accommodate peak times.
