An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Development Officer within the Careers Service in the Directorate of Student Life at GCU. The newly launched Strategy 2030 provides an excellent framework for the Careers Service to work with developing the Employability of GCU Students and Graduates. The Service has 4 main sections – Careers Education Advice and Guidance, Employer Partnerships, Employment & Skills, and Administration & Vacancies. GCU Careers Service is highly successful and recently achieved re-accreditation of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Quality Standard.
The post will be based in the Employment & Skills Section of the team. You will provide extensive support to the Common Good Award, the Career Mentoring porgramme, EDI initiatives, and development projects. The role will involve both one to one and group work with students as well as events organsiation and creating digital contact.
We are looking for a skilled communicator who is educated to degree level or equivalent and comfortable with communicating in all methods. You will have a strong customer focus and be committed to delivering an excellent student experience. It is essential that you are a team player with the ability to work effectively in the departmental team and the wider university community. The role requires strong organisational and IT skills and someone who is comfortable with a range of digital platforms.
