The Department of Applied Computer Games, within the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record of applied research, innovative teaching and knowledge transfer activities. The Department of Applied Computer Games covers the academic areas of Computer Games Design and Development, 3D Animation and Visualisation and Digital Design. We have 17 academic staff and approximately 500 students in undergraduate and post graduate programmes.

To support our continuing development, we are seeking to appoint 2 Lecturers in 3D Animation/VFX/Games Art. The primary purpose of this appointment is to “Champion” the topic of 3D Animation and Visualisation for games and vfx and play a leading role in the delivery and management across our range of Applied Computer Games programs which covers Undergraduate and Post Graduate programs. To contribute to the growth and developments of our teaching, research, consultancy and knowledge transfer activities; to expand our external collaboration networks for both research and teaching; contribute to new and enhanced curricula and taught provision in areas relevant to Applied Computer Games; to inspire current and future students.

Candidates for this lecturer post should ideally be educated to at least doctorate level and/or possess equivalent industry knowledge and experience in relevant areas. Evidence of a research record and successful grants applications will be an advantage. Experience in relevant industry sectors will be highly regarded.   A strong personal desire and commitment to engage in teaching and to contribute to research/consultancy is required.
