This is a full time/fixed term contract for 2 years

The Department of Academic Development and Student Learning (ADSL) aims to drive and support an enhanced GCU student learning experience through providing leadership and guidance, shaping strategy policy and practice, and by working in partnership with Schools, Professional Services and the Student Association. The Department also supports the University’s Common Good mission through its commitment to learning and teaching excellence, technology enhanced learning, educational scholarship, widening participation and public engagement.

As our new Lecturer you will be joining us at a transformative time. We are commencing the implementation of the Education Plan to drive forward transformative and digital learning, teaching and assessment across the university. As a member of ADSL, you will be central to implementing this across the University.

The successful candidate will have:

• Knowledge of the Higher Education sector and an understanding of professionalism of teaching and the professional standards relevant to learning and teaching, particularly the PSF 2023.
• Ability to build and maintain strong networks and relationships and successfully lead and co-ordinate institutional/large scale development projects.
• Experience of teaching and supporting student learning in Higher Education.
• Some experience of design and delivery of staff facing CPD (face to face, blended and online) in the Higher Education context.
• Ability to lead development and scholarship activity to a successful conclusion and dissemination of findings.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills to interact with academic staff in a support environment
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
