To support our continuing growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Lecturer in Cyber Security, within the Department of Cyber Security and Networks. The Department of Cyber Security and Networks, within the School of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment, is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record of applied research, innovative teaching and knowledge transfer activities. We have around 550 students and our degrees are accredited by the British Computer Society and our MSc Cyber Security Programme provisionally accredited by NCSC. We are continuing to develop and expand our provision at home and internationally.

 

We are excited to be offering a Lecturing position for an individual who is passionate about cyber security and eager to pass their knowledge and skills on to the next generation of learners.

As a Lecturer in Cyber Security, you will have a focus on providing high-quality learning and teaching, ideally research-driver, that is underpinned by scholarly activity.  We are keen to receive applications from individuals who will enhance our delivery of, and reputation in, our innovative cyber programs to meet industry needs and contribute to wider provision in areas relevant to Cyber Security, Information Security Management, and Digital Forensics in order to inspire current and future students.   

Applicants should hold a minimum of a BSc or equivalent with significant Cyber Security content and also either have, or be close to thesis submission, of a PhD in Cyber Security (or related discipline).  Alternatively, applicants should have equivalent industrial experience in the cyber sector. Prior experience of supporting student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and/or in industry/practice settings is essential.  The Department of Cyber Security and Networks promotes innovation in learning and teaching across a range of delivery models and we are therefore keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments.
