Our Department of Paramedicine and Physiotherapy is a dynamic and values-based work environment that aspires to contribute towards the common good of the local, national and international communities. This is an exciting time of expansion for us as we seek to recruit person-centred individuals to join us in this endeavour. We are a committed and passionate family of paramedics, physiotherapists, academics, clinicians and researchers. Our teaching and learning approaches are evidence informed. Our current portfolio of programmes include: BSc Paramedic Science, MSc Advanced Paramedic Practice, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) and DPT Physio (pre-pre-registration), MSc Advanced Physiotherapy Practice and MSc Advanced Practice. Our School has state-of-the-art simulation laboratory for providing our students with an authentic learning experience, including the recent addition of a fully simulated ambulance space to support the learning of our paramedic students. Our academics, researchers and professors are experts in their focused research areas, e.g. Older persons, Neurorehabilitation, Physical Activity and Rehabilitation, Health Behaviour Dynamics, Learning and Teaching Practice. You will possess the following attributes and skills:
- Relevant degree (UK 1st/2:1 or Merit/Distinction) qualification or the equivalent level reached through experience appropriate to discipline.
- Qualified healthcare professional with appropriate registration, relevant experience and currency in emergency, urgent or community care or another relevant area of professional/academic practice
- Relevant post-registration experience in professional field of practice, this should include completion of relevant post-registration training e.g. flying start or NQP programme
- Experience of learning and teaching within higher education and/or as a Practice Educator/Mentor/Lead
- Actively engaged in continuing professional development
- Excellent digital literacy, including experience of Virtual Learning Environments either as a teacher or a student (e.g. using Blackboard VLE; Microsoft Office including Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint; Zoom, etc.)
- Flexibility, resilience and responsive to rapid change
- Knowledge and skills to assess the quality of evidence and its translation to everyday paramedic practice.
