The Department of Psychology is a dynamic and vibrant academic community with a strong track record of applied psychology provision that includes innovative teaching and learning, scholarly activity, research, practice and knowledge transfer activities. We are seeking to appoint a fixed-term (maternity cover) Lecturer in Psychology who will contribute to the academic vibrancy of the Department.
Lecturers are expected to inspire learning and contribute to the enhancement of the student experience across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These include the BPS accredited BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology, MSc Forensic Psychology and three BPS accredited/HCPC approved Doctorates in Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology and Sport & Exercise Psychology. The majority of learning, teaching and assessment activities will take place on GCU’s Glasgow Campus.
Applicants should hold a doctoral qualification in Psychology (or be near to completion), and be eligible for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. We particularly welcome applications from people who are HCPC Registered Psychologists and who are eligible for Chartership with the British Psychological Society.
Prior experience of supporting Psychology student learning, teaching and assessment in higher education and/or practice settings is essential. The Department of Psychology promotes innovation in learning and teaching and, therefore, we are keen to appoint an individual with experience of e-learning and online environments. A higher education teaching qualification and/or Fellow status with AdvanceHE is desirable.
