Glasgow Caledonian University - the University for the Common Good - is a vibrant, values-led, multi-cultural, civic University with a global outlook and strong commitment to delivering social innovation and sustainable development in its education and research

Our organisational strategy is aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and our globally recognised researchers advise governments, industry and international bodies. We’re ranked fourth in the world and first in the UK for promoting gender equality, in the top 70 universities globally for social impact, and first in Scotland for health and wellbeing, and reduced inequalities, for which we are also ranked 21st in the world (THE Impact Rankings, 2022). In 2020-21, we contributed £1.7 billion and more than 14,000 jobs across the globe (BIGGAR Economics, 2022).

GCU is committed to widening participation, and delivering positive outcomes for our students. We are Scotland’s leading provider of Graduate Apprenticeships. With campuses in Glasgow, London and New York, we have transnational partnerships around the world, supporting more than 22,000 students from 130 countries.

Guided by our values – integrity, responsibility, creativity and confidence - we transform the lives of the people and communities we serve.

GCU Registry is responsible for the delivery of key academic and administrative services that underpin the student journey from registration to graduation and is part of a wider directorate that includes Academic Quality and School Professional Services.

The Timetabling team based within Registry is recruiting for a Registry Officer (Timetabling) who will provide timetabling services to a major part of the university.

Working as a part of a team of timetabling officers, you will create, maintain and publish teaching timetables, as well as allocate students to their individual student timetables. You will provide expert support and advice to staff and students on your allocated area’s timetables and proactively work to resolve timetable issues and implement improvements.

You will have excellent analytical skills with experience using timetabling and/or room bookings systems and Microsoft packages. Educated to degree level, you will be a natural problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a proven track record of implementing solutions.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with academic and professional services colleagues from across GCU. You will have the ability to work effectively and accurately while under pressure in a business critical environment and carry out a number of tasks concurrently.

You will exercise initiative and show a high degree of responsibility, while also being a dependable team player and supporting the work of others within the team.

If you would like to discuss this role, please contact Stacey Carrick (Senior Registry Officer - Data, Attendance & Systems) at stacey.carrick@gcu.ac.uk
