Strategy, Planning and Insight undertake a range of activities related to the student journey and University performance including strategy development and implementation, policy analysis, market insight, strategic planning, statutory returns, business intelligence and data analysis.
The successful candidate will provide expert input to the University’s market insight function in order to support the delivery of strategic objectives. This role involves working with the Lead Market Insight Analyst and leading on specific market insight projects and tasks, analysing internal and external data, scanning and analysing trends and developments in the external environment, preparing reports and presenting findings, and communicating actionable insights and recommendations. The role will inform institutional positioning, and support university planning, evidence-led portfolio development, marketing and recruitment activity, and an understanding of the implications of external developments on the University. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues within the department and across the University.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and relevant professional or postgraduate qualification is desirable. They will have professional experience in managing, designing and undertaking market research projects, in horizon scanning, and in identifying, evaluating, analysing and synthesising secondary data, relevant to market insight. They will have experience and skills in communicating actionable results from research and analysis to key audiences, including report writing and tailoring information in a variety of formats. The candidate should be able to work in a team and also independently, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Experience in managing, designing and undertaking market research projects in the HE sector and knowledge of the HE sector policy environment is desirable.
