Kilgraston School seeks to appoint a Junior Years Teacher. The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Head, Junior Years to ensure the provision of an excellent primary education. This will initially be a one-year contract.

All teachers appointed to Kilgraston are expected to contribute fully to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School. This may include evenings, Saturday and or Sunday duties. The richness of the school depends upon teachers who, for example, take pupils on trips to concerts and the theatre, volunteering in the community, university visits amongst many other events. The School expects its teachers to contribute whole-heartedly to school life by drawing upon their own interests and enthusiasms.

Main Objectives for this role are:

  • Develop and implement the school curriculum and active learning.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of teaching and learning.
  • Develop learning strategies that take account of individual pupil needs.
  • Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
  • Monitor, track and evaluate subject performance through planning and assessment and report the work of pupils.
  • Participate in school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
  • Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
  • Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
