Technology is central to our teaching, learning, and operations, and, due to promotion, we are seeking a proactive IT Support Technician to join our IT team.

Working under the supervision of the IT Manager, you will provide hands-on operational support to ensure staff and student have reliable access to technology across the school.

The Role

This is a frontline role, essential in keeping our IT systems running smoothly and supporting the day-to-day needs of our community. You will deliver technical support, maintain audio-visual systems, manage the school’s mobile device fleet, and ensure IT equipment is ready for lessons, boarding activities, and school events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT helpdesk support and classroom technical assistance.
  • Deliver basic IT training to staff and students on Windows and Apple systems.
  • Set up, maintain, and support AV equipment for assemblies, productions, open days, and other events.
  • Manage school-issued devices (Windows laptops and Chromebooks), handling requests and support for staff and students.
  • Maintain accurate IT equipment databases and fixed asset registers.
  • Assist with equipment disposal and ensure hardware is ready for term/year starts.
  • Support boarding house IT needs, including occasional out-of-hours support.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager and wider team to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Practical helpdesk or IT support experience, or equivalent technical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Chrome OS, and Apple/Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with audio-visual equipment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a school environment with children and young people.
