Lomond School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school offering an all-round education for pupils aged 3-18. We have a strong reputation for consistently achieving high academic standards, balanced with a healthy outdoor environment in a welcoming family-like atmosphere.
We offer two International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes alongside our Scottish curriculum, and we are the only boarding school in the West of Scotland.
We are looking to recruit a Matron who will play a key role in the pastoral care of all the pupils in the boarding house on a day-to-day basis, with particular responsibility for the physical, social and emotional well-being of the pupils in the House. This diverse role allows you to be part of Boarding life at the school while ensuring that you help create a ‘home away from home’ environment in which the boarders are at ease and are happy. Our Boarding pupils are aged from 9 years through to 19.
We’re looking for someone educated to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) who is already registered with SSSC or willing to obtain the qualification. This role is about being proactive and using your initiative to resolve day to day situations as they arise. You will need resilience, patience, clear-sightedness, compassion, strength and an unfailing sense of humour! However, if this role is for you will find it incredibly rewarding being part of our young people’s life while at the school.
This is a part-time role working a 4 week rota of 3 x 12 hours and 1 x 36 hours. Please note that these hours could be any day Monday to Sunday and are likely to include evenings. This is a term-time plus 14 days contract.
