Class Teaching Assistant

Newbattle Abbey College welcomes a diverse range of students and many of these students have additional support needs and need some extra help in the classroom. We are looking for a Classroom Teaching Assistant to work with our Learning & Teaching team to provide effective support for these students. The post holder will be predominantly based in the classroom supporting lecturing staff with classes by providing additional support to students in the class. The post holder will also be required to complete other student support duties when needed and as requested by their line manager. The post holder will report to our Student Wellbeing and Support Lead. Please see the job description for more information. This role will be on a part-time, fixed term, basis until 13 June 2025. The successful candidate will work the hours 9:00am to 4.00pm* on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.

*Please note these hours can be amended slightly if needed to suit the needs of the candidate e.g. to work around childcare commitments.

We offer a competitive salary of £27,000 (pro-rata) plus holiday benefits. There may also be a further opportunity for this role in the new academic year 2025-26.
