Salary:  £36,295.71 - £39,069.00 per annum

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to assess our MA Engineering Vocational programme.

 

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Vocational Assessor with an SVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent qualification in the subject area, or suitable industrial experience in the subject area. They will have excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven track record of engaging with learners that results in motivating them to succeed.

 

If you are a highly effective team player who actively supports colleagues, have the ability to build and maintain effective Employer/Apprentice relationships, and have relevant industry experience, we want you to come and join our team.

 

This post will involve the assessment of engineering apprentices in the workplace.

Person Specification

(criteria marked * are desirable, all others are essential)

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Educated to HNC level (SCQF Level 7) or equivalent in the relevant subject area
  2. Have an SVQ level 3 in an engineering subject or have a minimum of 3 years industrial experience in engineering activities
  3. Assessor training qualifications*
  4. Verifier training qualifications*
  5. Evidence of continuous professional development

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

 

  1. Up to date vocational experience in the relevant area.
  2. Experience as a trainer or experience of training staff in the relevant area
  3. Up to date industry knowledge in the relevant area
  4. Knowledge of the type of programmes available in further education
  5. Knowledge of a range of assessment methods.

 

SKILLS

 

  1. Oral and written communication skills
  2. Numeracy skills
  3. Able to work on own initiative and without supervision
  4. The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  5. Team working skills
  6. IT literacy
