Within a small class environment and fully embracing our Therapeutic Parenting model, our schools provide a range of qualifications through bespoke curricula to equip young people for their future. We also offer vocational opportunities alongside academic opportunities through classroom-based, remote, and online learning.

We have an opportunity for a Teacher to join our team at Pebble Academy in Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. In this role, you will have the chance to build life-changing relationships with our pupils. The position offers you the ability to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people between the ages of 11 and 18. You will be responding to their individual needs to help them thrive.

What we offer you

  • A salary of £38,655-£43,218 per annum, pro rata, plus benefits.

  • Your hours of work are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Your contact time with learners is 22.5 hours per week, and a flexible work pattern, including remote-based work, can be applied to your other hours of work.

The Essential qualities we look for

  • Educated to degree level with undergraduate/postgraduate teaching qualification.
  • Desire to work with pupils who have experienced trauma and challenge.
  • Must have a current valid driving license.
  • PVG enhanced.
  • Full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
  • Right to work in the UK.

The Desirable Qualities We Look for

  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches to Adverse Childhood Experiences, mental health, attachment, therapeutic parenting, etc. and able to apply to everyday practice.
  • Experience in teaching and assessing pupils with Additional Support Needs or the desire to undertake professional learning to gain skills in this area.
  • Experience of formulating flexible curricula for ‘hard-to-reach’ pupils.
