We are looking for a Senior Reward & Equality Advisor to join the People Reward & Equality team in Human Resources within our People Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to use your reward expertise and analytical skills to help shape fair, evidence-based reward and equality practices.

The successful candidate will be required to lead, manage and/or participate in a wide range of reward and people equality activities, tasks, and projects to support managers and staff across the organisation, aid recruitment and retention and ensure the delivery of the operational plan and people strategy.

To do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:

  • Leading and/or participating in job evaluation activity, chairing panels and recording rationales to ensure consistency
  • Providing support and coaching to managers and employees on the completion of job descriptions to ensure the information gathered is succinct, accurate and fit for job evaluation panels
  • Conducting reward data analysis to ensure compliance, fairness and informed decision-making
  • Providing professional reward advice and guidance to managers and employees in line with policy and procedure, legislation and best practice
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery

Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a reward/compensation & benefits role within a unionised environment with demonstrable experience of job evaluation
  • Proficient data analysis skills, in particular Excel to interpret and present data effectively providing insightful recommendations on what the data show
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a range of audiences
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take a proactive approach

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 9, ideally CIPD qualified or possess an equivalent professional HR qualification and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role
