Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Denis Law Legacy Trust (DLLT) for an outgoing and driven individual to join our team as a Fundraising & Marketing Officer.

DLLT is a registered charity committed to improving the lives of young people and families across Aberdeen City. Through innovative programmes such as Streetsport and Club 10, we use sport and creative activities as a catalyst for social change, reducing anti-social behaviour, promoting positive lifestyle choices, and supporting families affected by imprisonment. In 2025 alone, DLLT delivered thousands of free sessions in local communities, engaged hundreds of young people in volunteering opportunities, and provided vital support to families navigating challenging circumstances. Our work is evidence-based and relationship-driven, creating pathways for personal development and community cohesion.

DLLT works in close collaboration with Robert Gordon University, a partnership that strengthens our research, evaluation, and volunteer development. This relationship ensures our programmes are informed by academic insight and best practice, while providing students with real-world opportunities to contribute to social impact initiatives.

The purpose of the Fundraising and Marketing Officer role is to build an engaged community of supporters with a strong affiliation for DLLT. As part of the wider function, the role will also enhance DLLT’s profile, brand, and reputation. You will help generate revenue to resource the charity and achieve its strategic ambitions. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, researching, and stewarding funding opportunities
  • Supporting internal and external fundraising groups and events
  • Using storytelling to capture and portray our impact across multiple platforms
  • Working closely with colleagues and senior management to deliver strategic goals.

Educated to degree level or with relevant work experience, you will be a team player with the ability to act on initiative, build relationships, and secure funds. Experience in fundraising and marketing impact would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people and families, while helping shape the future of a charity with a proven track record of impact and innovation. You will be based in the DLLT office situated on RGU’s Garthdee campus and will have the full support of a talented and wide team with many additional benefits as part of the recruitment package.

We can consider flexible start/finish times, a compressed working week and one day working from home. You will also benefit from a generous pension scheme, 46 days annual leave (including statutory days) an onsite nursery and sports centre, as well as a range of voluntary health and travel benefits.
