Robert Gordon’s College is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to take forward the next phase of development in helping learners with additional support needs in both our Junior and Senior schools. Our aim is to provide seamless, tailored support for learners aged 3-18, including at all levels of Scottish National Qualifications. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified teacher of learning support/additional support needs. The successful applicant will lead a large, highly committed team in driving forward excellent teaching and learning in a supportive environment which takes account of the individual needs of learners. The successful candidate should aim to create an environment which delivers individualised support for pupils as well as working closely with teachers to allow them to deliver appropriate support in lessons. Pupils will be encouraged to develop characteristics such as leadership, curiosity, self organisation, awareness and resilience when facing challenges. This is a full time, permanent post.

The Head of Additional Support Needs will report to two members of the Joint Senior Leadership Team (one Junior School, one Senior School).

Salary will be based on the national SNCT scale, together with the Robert Gordon’s Allowance above SNCT scale. Candidates will be expected to be willing to actively participate in the College’s vibrant co-curricular programme..
