South Lanarkshire College is fully committed to enhancing the learning experience of students and this is demonstrated through attainment rates being amongst the highest in Scotland and continuing to rise. The successful results have been achieved through attracting, recruiting, motivating and engaging staff that can be supported, developed and retained to ensure all students have fair and equal access to the opportunities available to them.

We have 5000 students and 340 staff operating from a campus around 5.5 hectares in size in East Kilbride, the 6th largest conurbation in Scotland. Our campus has three buildings – a low-energy low-carbon house, a low-energy, low-carbon teaching block which is the first building in the UK to achieve BREEAM (2014) “Outstanding”, and a main building with classrooms, salons, training kitchens, restaurants and workshops.

We’ve delivered sustained growth in activity of nearly 40% over the past 6 years and a programme of curriculum and campus change. The curriculum covers all levels across Access, Senior Phase, Foundation Apprenticeships, Modern Apprenticeships, SWAP programmes, Further Education, Higher Education, unique industry-led qualifications and a Degree programme. The number of Higher National Certificate (HNC) places has increased steadily, providing a greater range of routes for progression, for students on non-advanced courses.

The quality and commitment of our staff make our college the organisation that it is and this is demonstrated in our achievement of being awarded the first College in the UK to achieve Investors in People Platinum in 2016.

Whatever your area of expertise, if you work with us you can develop your career in a supportive environment that encourages you to achieve the highest possible standards and you can contribute to something really meaningful.
