Based in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre with easy access to transport links, the College offers an inclusive culture based on integrity, respect and personal excellence in making a difference in the lives of its pupils, parents and staff alike.

As part of the St Aloysius’ family you will be working for an open and flexible employer.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and all staff share this commitment.

We provide staff access to our multi gym suite and have a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing.

The Opportunity

We are looking to appoint a Science Technician who will support the safe and effective operation of Science Laboratories including the maintenance, storage and availability of all items of equipment whilst ensuring that health and safety requirements are fully adhered to at all times.

What you need to succeed

You will be qualified to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent in a relevant science or hold a Registered Science Technician Qualification. Alternatively, candidates with relevant experience as a school Science Technician will be considered. Experience of working with school pupils up to Advanced Higher level would be beneficial. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge of current health & safety legislation and provide guidance which is specific to modern scientific laboratory techniques.

As a self-starter, with excellent communication and organisational skills, you must have a flexible approach as there will be a requirement to work on a variety of projects at any given time.

St Aloysius’ College places safeguarding of its pupils as its highest priority and as such the successful applicant will be subject to appropriate qualification and right to work in the UK checks and must gain membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme. Appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment questions will form part of the selection process.
