St. Philip’s School provides Specialist Residential Care and Education to young people aged 10 – 18 years, who have a range of additional support needs, including such areas as social, emotional and behavioural development.

We are looking to recruit, on a full-time basis, an Outreach Teacher to enhance learning for children who reside within St Philip’s School services throughout Lanarkshire. Our young people experience Communication, Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs and all have experienced a form of trauma. St Philip’s School works within a trauma informed model to support our young people and utilise Therapeutic Crisis Intervention as our behaviour management system.

The role involves identification and assessment, planning and support, consultation, training and building capacity and partnership working. The successful candidate will work alongside education and care staff, external agencies and third parties as well as families, social workers and guardians.

The successful candidate will be required to travel across all of St Philip's School services as required to meet the needs of this job role.

The range of needs of our young people require the successful candidate to be flexible within their approach and that all teaching and learning tools are utilised.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in writing Individualised Educational Programmes/Reports, have undertaken CPD opportunities relevant to this type of position and have knowledge of de-escalation techniques.

St Philip's School will accept applications from individuals who wish to work a flexible working week.

We would particularly welcome applications from Teachers with experience of special education, and/or qualifications in Additional Support Needs. We also welcome applications from suitably qualified Primary Teachers.

We require enthusiastic, flexible and compassionate individuals who are committed to this very challenging work and who can help achieve the best possible outcomes and attainment for young people who have experienced disrupted learning.

Candidates must be GTC registered. Terms and Conditions are favourable and Salaries for the post will be commensurate with individual qualifications and experience.

Staff benefits include access to a state-of-the-art fitness suite, swimming pool, games hall and a free meal on shift.

All convictions whether spent or unspent must be declared. Candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update. (NB It is a criminal offence to make an application if barred from regulated work)

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for any of our job roles.

Please email completed application forms to admin@stphilipsschool.org.uk.
