The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 575 years, and we are one of the world's top 100 universities, ranked 12th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) World Impact Rankings 2025, demonstrating that we are not only one of the best universities in the United Kingdom, but one of the best universities for the world. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
This is a great opportunity for a new Head of Advice and Response to join the University’s Academic Services.
The Head of Advice & Response will lead one of the University's most important student support functions, ensuring excellence in safeguarding, complex case management and residential welfare while contributing strategically to the future direction of the Student Wellbeing Service. The successful candidate will join at a time of significant opportunity, helping to establish new ways of working, strengthen partnerships across the institution and drive continuous improvement in student support and wellbeing.
The Head of Advice & Response provides strategic leadership and senior oversight of the University’s Safeguarding and Residence Life Welfare Teams. In this role you will lead, develop and embed activity that will shape our institutional culture in relation to student welfare and safety, safeguarding, gender-based violence, harassment, hate crime and bullying, ensuring alignment with university priorities, sector expectations, and statutory duties.
As a senior member of the Student Wellbeing Leadership Team, you will shape policy, governance, and practice. You will ensure the student-centred delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and legally compliant support, case management and welfare processes, including oversight of out of hours support for students in university residences.
