The School of Education at the University of Strathclyde is seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Early Years.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Teaching and Knowledge Exchange profile of the School in the area of Early Learning and Childcare across the BA in Childhood Practice, Initial Teacher Education and Early Years Masters in Education (M.Ed) courses. There will be an expectation of building on and contributing to the positive relationships that the current team has established with policy makers in Scottish Government, as well as developing new relationships with future national and international stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree and PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in an appropriate discipline, and have recent professional experience teaching in an Early Years setting. It is desirable that applicants will demonstrate successful experience in developing and implementing curricular change in Early Years and Childhood Education, and have a keen awareness of current Scottish Government strategic initiatives in the discipline. Experience of working with and supporting students would also be advantageous.

Applicants are required to complete an application form including the name of three referees who will be contacted before interview without further permission, unless you indicate that you would prefer otherwise. Applicants should also submit a Curriculum Vitae and a covering letter detailing the knowledge, skills and experience you think make you the right candidate for the job. Applicants should also complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form.
