Youth Engagement Officer

Contract Duration - 20 Months (31st March 2026)

This role will help ensure that children and young people growing up in Scotland are informed and actively engaged, can shape, influence and drive positive change so that they grow up loved, safe and respected.

This role will support in the development of a proposition that means wherever they live, children and young people growing up in Scotland can develop a relationship with Police Scotland and see us as an organisation they can influence or be part of.

Contribute to the planning and delivery of the youth engagement and participation approach within Police Scotland, ensuring that the service meaningfully involves children and young people in decision-making so that we deliver effective services which meet their diverse needs.

Support the development and delivery of an appropriate and sustainable approach for children and young people’s engagement and participation within Police Scotland.

The approach and supporting framework will be designed with children and young people at the heart and follow best practice, in accordance with the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), including the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 and best practice in the area of youth engagement and participation.
