The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service prioritises the wellbeing of its staff with a focus on positive mental health and overall wellbeing. We are currently looking for a highly experienced clinician with the expertise and alignment to the SFRS Values to join our Wellbeing team as Clinical Lead.
This is a temporary full-time post for a period of 12 months. The location of this role is SFRS flexible. Applications from individuals seeking hybrid or flexible working options will be considered. This role will require travel across Scotland.
As Clinical Lead you’ll play a key role, leading the delivery of the Occupational Health Service within the SFRS. Working as part of the Safety & Assurance Team, you will
- Manage the activities of our Health and Wellbeing nurse led occupational health service, ensuring the professional, effective and efficient delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice, in line with clinical governance standards.
- Provide clinical leadership, expert advice and support, with responsibility for making final and determining specialist decisions, dealing with the most complex cases.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health, safety and wellbeing legislative requirements.
- Monitor and report on clinical performance metrics and outcomes.
- Lead on projects that promote health and wellbeing within SFRS, producing and analysing data to inform organisational activity.
- Represent the SFRS on relevant professional groups, networks and forums.
- Support and enable continued professional development within the team, to ensure core skills and clinical registrations are maintained.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health/Public Health (SCPHN).
- NMC Part 3 Registered.
- Previous experience in a senior clinical role.
- A full clean driving licence and the ability to travel throughout Scotland with overnights stays.
BENEFITS
The salary range for this role is £53,875 - £56,600 per annum.
In addition, a market allowance of £11,320 is applicable to this post for suitably experienced candidates. Taking account of this market allowance, the potential combined maximum remuneration for this post is £67,920.
The market allowance is applicable for an initial 12-month period. This allowance is subject to review and may be varied or removed where market pressures change or no longer exist. The market allowance will be payable where the appointee is able to demonstrate they are suitably competent, experienced and qualified to undertake the full aspects of the role.
Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression to the higher salary point, subject to regular review in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
