The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Community Safety Advocate, based in East North and South Ayrshire LSO Area on a permanent basis. This is a full-time opportunity, working 14.5 hours per week.
This is a part time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis would be considered.
It is an exciting and challenging time for the SFRS as we move into a period of consolidation and review; continuing to deliver true partnership working, strategic change and ultimately working together to improve the lives of the communities of Scotland. Our Community Safety Advocates will play a key role in support of this agenda within the relevant Service Delivery Management Teams.
Successful candidates must be able to evidence strong partnership working and communication skills and be proactive in supporting and delivering the community focussed priorities of the Area and Service.
Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the local and national priorities in relation to community engagement, and to have the ability to communicate with, and instruct, diverse groups on a wide range of Service related topics.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and will be required to carry out regulated work with adults and children.
