The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Driving Instructor, based at the SFRS National Training Centre, Cambuslang. This is a part-time opportunity, working an average of 17.5 hours per week however applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis would be considered. The work pattern for this role is one week on followed by one week off, or two weeks on followed by two weeks off, depending on candidate preference and course requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake driving instructor duties for Category B+E, C1 and C (LGV) Driving Licence Acquisition testing to all uniformed and support personnel for the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.
Applicants will require previous experience of Driver Training as well as a Category B+E Driving Entitlement, Category C (LGV) Driving License (Min 3 years), experience of delivering driver and/or driver related training and evidence of delivering licence acquisition testing, technical and practical training.
The successful candidate requires to have the ability to travel throughout Scotland and support Driver Training in other areas of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. They will be required to carry out occasional weekend and evening work and subject to course requirements, may be required to undertake overnight trips and travel to the Island groups of Scotland.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
