The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Multi-Media Technician, based to the nearest HQ building to the successful candidate’s home address on a permanent basis.

This is a part-time position working 26.5 hours per week however applications from individuals seeking to work on a flexible working basis would be considered.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development and production of innovative and engaging digital learning resources to support the training and development of SFRS personnel. This will involve creating interactive, electronic learning materials that comply with SFRS policies, procedures, operational practices and relevant legislative requirements.

Applicants should hold a minimum HNC qualification in Graphic Arts or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and expertise gained through relevant professional experience and development.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in the production of digital learning materials, supported by a sound understanding of e-learning design and development principles. You will also possess practical experience in graphic design and multimedia software, including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Captivate. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A flexible and proactive approach to work is required, with the ability to follow instructions and manage workloads with minimal supervision.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
