The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Senior Project Manager, based in any of SFRS's work locations on a fixed term basis for 23 months. This is a full-time opportunity, working 35 hours per week.
This is a full time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share or flexible working basis would be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to lead a significant digital and organisational transformation project. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is embarking on a modernisation of our corporate services, transforming how our People, Finance and Asset Management functions operate, implementing future systems with user centred digital services. This strategic project will drive digital innovation, automation, integration and user centred design across the in-scope departments of People, Finance (including Payroll) and Asset Management (Stores).
As an experienced senior project manager, you will have in depth experience of public sector procurement and significant experience of successfully delivering complex strategic change initiatives. You will have proven capability in delivering strategic business change enabled through new digital capabilities. You will be experienced in managing a complex stakeholder environments and able to work at senior levels and with cross function teams; experience of managing suppliers to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality is also essential. You will be familiar working under pressure in a fast moving environment and bring experience of change management and organisational readiness to support the embedding of new ways of working.
Applicants are required to be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and have a recognised qualification in Project Management alongside significant experience of managing large complex projects. The successful candidate will have experience of both direct line management and of matrix management of people assigned to work on the project.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is also subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. Therefore, the successful candidate's will be subject to a Level 2 Disclosure record check through Disclosure Scotland.
