Job Description
An Active Stirling Climbing Instructor plans and delivers developmentally appropriate activities, promoting an active lifestyle by creating a fun and engaging environment for children and adults. This role includes helping children develop fundamental movement skills, confidence, and a love for climbing.
There are 2-3 part time posts available (various hours depending on availability and business needs). These posts are fixed term until 31 December 2026.
Requirements
· Rock Climbing Instructor or Climbing Wall Instructor qualification.
· Ability to plan, deliver, and adapt fun and age-appropriate physical activity sessions.
· Strong communication skills to engage confidently with children, parents and carers.
· Enthusiastic, friendly, approachable and able to motivate and inspire young children through play.
· Great organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Have a basic understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
· Flexible and willing to travel to different venues within Stirling as required.
· Membership of the PVG Scheme.
· First Aid and Child Protection certificates.
Responsibilities
· To deliver a high-quality climbing programme for all abilities and to support wider facility operations as required.
· To plan climbing classes, so that individual needs can be met, by providing high quality coaching experiences.
· Ensure all activities are safe, inclusive and adapted to suit the individual needs and abilities of each child or adult.
· Attend training and team meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
· Be a positive role model, promoting the benefits of an active lifestyle to families and the wider community.
· Keep accurate registers and contribute to basic monitoring and reporting when required.
· Always follow Active Stirling’s child protection, health and safety, and equality policies.
