Training with us

Our Graduate Trainee Scheme includes full sponsorship to become a qualified Chartered Accountant with ICAS. You’ll get a prestigious, internationally recognised qualification, whilst being involved in varied and interesting work auditing public bodies in Scotland.

Our trainees come from a variety of backgrounds – just graduated, mature students or people looking to change career, from a vast range of degree subjects.

What matters is that you’ve got great analytical skills, are committed to studying for a professional qualification and excel in a challenging and rewarding role.

We have a passion for what we do. And if you think this sounds like the career for you, then we’d like to hear from you. You’ll need these skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level with a minimum 2:1 in any subject (or expect to achieve a 2:1 in Summer 2020)
  • Strong academic performance in both English and Mathematics
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-awareness and confidence to work using initiative
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively
  • Disciplined and organised with good project management skills

You will also need to be eligible to work in the UK.

We’d also like to invite you to our graduate trainee scheme open evening on Thursday 14 November 2019 at our headquarters in Edinburgh. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about life at Audit Scotland. Applications for our 2020 Graduate Trainee Scheme are welcome before or after the event.

On the evening you will:

· Hear from current trainees about the training and development opportunities they've experienced with us, whilst working towards qualifying as Chartered Accountants with ICAS. Colleagues from ICAS will also be there to answer your questions.

· Meet our trainees and other colleagues - put your questions to them and learn more about the work of Scotland’s public spending watchdog

· Learn more about other activities our trainees get involved in, like our charity work.
