Independent Advocacy Worker (19440)

We believe in children and our extensive range of projects and services across Scotland help to lift them out of all forms of poverty, abuse and discrimination. These services include Hear 4 U an independent advocacy service for children and young people which works to ensure their rights are respected and their views heard. We are seeking to recruit a full time advocacy worker (maternity leave) who will have access to an office in Greenock.

In this key role you will provide an independent advocacy service for children and young people from priority groups. Your role will be assisting children and young people to express their thoughts and views, ensuring that they can participate in the processes that affect their lives. You will also contribute to service development and evaluation. Experience of working directly with children, young people and families in a paid or voluntary setting will be essential, along with a sound understanding of child protection issues and a current driving license and access to a car for business purposes.
