An exciting opportunity has arisen in Lanarkshire to be part of a team helping children young people and families who are struggling within education settings. Funded through the pupil equity Fund (PEF) Our Lanarkshire Attachment and Nurture service works in partnership with schools across Lanarkshire to provide support to children young people and families to develop and maintain positive family relationships. Support workers promote improved emotional health and wellbeing utilizing a number of tools and resources such as but not exclusive to Let's Introduce Anxiety Management (LIAM) and Togetherness (formally the solihull approach). The overarching aim is to emotionally contain families, upskill them to identify and employ coping strategies that allow children and young people to positively participate in the school day.

The nature of support provided can range from 1:1, whole family and group work.

Duties include:

• Where required based in schools

• supporting Children and young people in school

• offering help to family members within the home

• Signposting and advocating for individuals

• Participating and contributing to multi agency decision making forums

• Ensuring accurate record keeping

• Working with individuals to develop and review support plans

• Carryout risk assessments and develop risk management plans

• Provide regular reports to the school

• Attendance at school parents night/events


Those applying should be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, experienced and able to work on own initiative. Potential candidates should be able to foster positive relationships with partners and agencies within the local authority and demonstrate a working knowledge of:

• Safeguarding and child protection procedures.

• Promise framework,

• UNCRC legislation

• Contextual safeguarding

We are advertising for a full time, 37 hours per week Project worker 2 but we may be able to consider applications for those wishing to work part time. You must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekend if required.

A valid driving license with access to own transport for the purposes of work is essential to the role.
