Volunteer co-ordinator (19208)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate individual to join Barnardo's as a Volunteer Co-Ordinator within our Young Carers Service.

We are looking for someone to work alongside our dedicated team to help deliver a service which will meet the needs of Young Carers and volunteers locally. It is our aim to ensure that Young Carers have a fulfilled life alongside caring. An understanding of Young Carers and their support needs would be desirable.

As our volunteer co-ordinator you will be responsible for the recruitment, induction, learning, development, and supporting matching young people with a volunteer. The role will include raising awareness of the volunteering opportunities and attending community events to recruit new volunteers. There is an expectation that you would support our experienced project workers and volunteers during groups and outings for Young Carers as and when required. Therefore, occasional evening and weekend working will be required.

Your role will be based in our Barnardo's Aberdeen office but includes community working in schools, family homes, and community centres etc. TThe successful candidate must have a current driving licence, access to a car and be willing to transport young people as required.
