This is a hybrid role that will allow autonomy and flexibility with a blend of working from home and at our two main offices in Dundee or Perth.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Development Officer to join our team who will be fundamental in assisting with the procurement and delivery of the Group’s ambitious property development, regeneration and maintenance programmes. You will ensure that there is a systematic and accountable approach that will achieve the most cost-effective solution whilst maintaining the quality of our assets and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of designs and tender documentation for development contracts, taking account of all of the Group’s requirements, and relevant legal, regulatory and statutory obligations
- Effective consultation is carried out with all key stakeholders and other departments ensuring Tender documentation takes account of their requirements and expectations
- Closely supervise new development contracts, ensuring contracts are completed on time, within budget and in compliance with the Group’s requirements as set out in the brief for the project
- Develop strong collaborative relationships amongst teams and support active sharing of information and timely action in response to requests from colleagues
- Budgetary management and identifying and implementing efficiencies
- Performance management of contractors and consultants
- Delivering high levels of customer care throughout project stages ranging from inception through to completion
The successful applicant;
- Will have proven experience in development construction delivery and project management, with the ability to successfully manage several projects simultaneously
- Relevant Technical knowledge to control building contracts from commencement to completion, with an HNC in a property/construction related discipline desirable.
- Legal knowledge of building contracts and obligations and requirements of landlords and building developers
- Experience within a public sector organisation / housing association, however applications for other relevant experience and transferable skills will be considered.
- Prior Property development experience involving budgetary responsibility and the procurement and management of external contractors and suppliers desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strong prioritising and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk-mitigation and addressing issues
A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential for this role.
