We are looking to recruit two Technicians (£35,751 - £36,737)/Trainee Technicians (£26,791 - £27,375) seeking an opportunity to develop a career in property survey and valuation.
Trainee Technicians will be provided with support (including college day release) to qualify as a Technician over a 2-year period.
Who we are
Central Scotland Valuation Joint Board covers the Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Council areas and is responsible for compiling and maintaining the Valuation Roll for Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation List for Council Tax. The Assessor is also the Electoral Registration Officer for the three Councils. The Board employs approximately 45 people and our office is at Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ. Further information about the Board is available at www.saa.gov.uk/central/
What the job is
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- the survey and measurement of a wide range of property for rating and Council Tax purposes
- carrying out valuations as required
- maintaining property files and records to a high standard
- communicating effectively with ratepayers, taxpayers and other relevant contacts.

What the qualification requirements are
Applications are invited, at Technician level, from candidates who hold a Diploma of Higher Education in Surveying Practice or equivalent and have relevant experience working in a property related discipline.
Consideration will also be given to Trainee Technician candidates who meet the entrance requirements for a suitable qualification in a property-based discipline, for example a NC in a related discipline, minimum one Higher level pass and relevant passes at National 5 or equivalent in relevant subjects, including science/technology. Relevant experience is not an essential requirement at this level.
