City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group’s citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations.

About the Role

The Operations Manager is a key role within City Building’s Investment Division, responsible for managing business activities and overseeing the planning, delivery, and completion of investment programmes. You will lead projects, supervise your team, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure high‑quality, compliant service delivery.

This role includes managing resources, monitoring performance, controlling costs, and meeting agreed timescales, whilst ensuring all work aligns with legislation, policies, and quality procedures.

You will support continuous improvement and contribute to the division’s growth by delivering efficient, customer‑focused services.

Although primarily focused on kitchen, bathroom, and window programmes, you may be required to manage other investment workstreams. The role may evolve over time, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

What You Will Bring

You will demonstrate strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders. You will have a solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations. You will be confident in operating at management level, reporting to senior leaders, and contributing flexibly to the success of the business.

A broad operational understanding and the ability to represent the organisation professionally are essential.
