Operational Intelligence Development Officer

Trading Standards Scotland (TSS), hosted by COSLA, is looking for a proactive and analytical Intelligence Development Officer to support national enforcement work across Scotland.

This role sits within the Intelligence and Coordination team and plays a key part in developing intelligence packages to support investigations into unlawful trading practices, including illegal money lending and online scams. You’ll use open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools and digital platforms to identify emerging threats, analyse patterns, and contribute to national tasking and coordination.

The post is fixed-term for 23 months, based in Thornliebank, and offers 36 hours per week under COSLA’s flexitime system. Travel across Scotland and occasionally the UK may be required.

If you have experience in intelligence development or trading standards enforcement, strong analytical and communication skills, and a keen interest in digital investigative techniques, we’d love to hear from you.

Appointment to the post will be subject to the successful candidate passing NPPV Level 3 vetting.
