The Communications and PR Lead role at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is a pivotal position responsible for delivering expert, creative, and highly effective internal and external communications across the organisation as part of the wider Marketing, Communications and Sales function. Working closely with business functions and key stakeholders, you will shape and implement communications strategy and policy, ensuring consistent, engaging, and brand aligned messaging that supports corporate priorities.

 

The role spans the full communications spectrum, from planning and content creation to digital channels, media relations, and campaign delivery, while also managing reporting and compliance. As Fife Sports and Leisure Trust continues a significant growth period underpinned by transformational change, developing and embedding a strong internal communication strategy will be central to ensuring alignment, engagement, and clarity across the organisation.

 

This role is being offered for up to 18 Months to Cover a Maternity leave. This position will have direct line management responsibility for a Content Creator.

Requirements

Educated to HNC in a relevant field, equivalent professional qualification or

experience in a similar/ related communications/marketing role.

 

Significant experience in communications, media relations, promotion and/or

marketing.

 

Demonstrable experience in developing a comprehensive and proactive media

and communications strategy.

 

Demonstrable experience advising executive management teams of

communications.

 

Demonstrable experience in leading/coordinating the delivery of work and objectives with others and managing a team including associated PR processes.

 

Demonstrable project management experience as well as leading/making a positive contribution to change.

 

Demonstrable budget management experience.

 

Significant experience of improving customer service through effective communications.

 

Significant experience of developing effective working relationships and networks, both internally and externally.

 

Understanding of media/PR relations management, wider communications techniques and best practice.

You will be confident advising senior leaders, shaping communications strategy, and translating organisational priorities into clear, compelling content across digital, print, and media channels. Strong experience in stakeholder management, and digital communications is essential, along with the ability to lead on campaigns, manage press and social media activity, and maintain brand consistency.
