Working at Forestry and Land Scotland is all about ‘People, Pride and Purpose.’ Join us and take pride in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotland’s national forests and land.

We are looking for a Forest Liaison Officer to join our team in the South Region. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for renewable energy developers, helping to integrate their projects with our broader land management objectives. This is a full-time, permanent position with the opportunity to make a significant impact on sustainable land use in Scotland.

You will be part of the South Region’s Planning and Environment team, which is dedicated to managing 170,000 ha of public land. Our team collaborates with various specialists to design sustainable forests, restore habitats, and support renewable energy projects. Your role will involve close coordination with the national renewables team and regional estates team to ensure that development projects align with Forestry and Land Scotland’s goals.

To be effective in this role we are looking for someone who has experience in Forest or Land Management, effective stakeholder engagement, and operational experience in Forestry, Renewables, or Construction.
