FLS Plant and Seed Supply is a dedicated team of 30 people responsible for growing or sourcing the 25 million trees per year required for the forests and land managed by FLS. We do this from the only publicly owned tree nursery in Scotland, Newton Nursery, near Elgin, which is currently being redeveloped with a 12,000sqm glasshouse. We are delighted to announce that as part of our redevelopment, we now have a number of Tree Nursery Team Leader vacancies available. This is an exciting time to join a forward thinking and innovative environment to lead and grow a successful a motivated team.

You’ll lead and coach your team members, collaborating with the other Team Leaders and Nursery Managers to agree priorities and plan your team’s duties. By delegating tasks effectively, you’ll help them to achieve their goals, whilst driving efficiencies for the nursery operation.

You will be a natural people person who is motivated to help others succeed. As well as developing the team around you, you’ll also need to have a strong appreciation for the bigger picture, so an understanding of horticulture, agriculture and forestry would be an advantage; however, we will have subject experts available to support your development so an eagerness to learn is more important than being an expert already.

To be successful in this role you must have basic knowledge of modern horticulture used in forest nursery or agriculture settings.
